Pre...pre-departure?

I found out about my acceptance to NSLI-Y a little less then a week ago and I already can't wait to go to Pune and learn Hindi! After hearing all the participant's questions on what the program will be like and what Pune will be like, I feel like counting down the days until I'm on the plane at JFK leaving for India.

While I have been to India before, I've never experienced going as an American. When I say this I mean that I've never experienced going to India as a true outsider, I'm always Indian-American. Especially when it comes to traveling with family! I hope this experience will give me a new perspective on my parent's home country and on one of their many mother-tounges.
